The PPU‘s annual golf classic took place once again in Dun Laoghaire Golf Club on Friday August 23rd. There was a ‘shotgun’ start at 14:00 which meant everyone finished together and had a great opportunity to socialise before the dinner. We had 44 golfers enjoying the beautiful sunny weather and another then six past pupils joined us for the dinner.
There was a bit of fun on the night with a raffle, a charity auction and the prize giving. Many thanks to our sponsors for their support which helped us ensure the prizes were good and for the super items that were ultimately auctioned. Also many thanks to the various individuals who contributed the prizes that made the raffle a bit of fun.
The individual winner was Donal Courtney with an excellent score of 39. The team prize was won with a score of 85 points by a Class of ’78 team comprised of Adrian Barnes, Gareth Colgan, Barry Steele and Russell Burke. The PPU president, Dermot Kelly, presented the prizes to all the winners.

To all those that have booked their places we look forward to seeing you on the 23 rd . Please ensure you are ready by 13:30 as, with the shotgun start, you will need time to get out to your allocated tee box.
As of now we have three lines left if you would still like to participate but please book soon as, with the shotgun start, once we are full we are full. Your place will only be confirmed when either a deposit or (preferably) full payment is received. For anyone who would like to play, but is not yet part of a team, please let us know as we have a few individual participants registered who will be looking to form teams which we will be happy to facilitate.
Many thanks to those who have already offered us sponsorship. This helps us keep the cost of participation down and the quality of the prizes up. We would have room for one more sponsor if any past pupil would be kind enough to offer it. If interested, please let us know using the contact from below or at firstname.lastname@example.org.The PPU will ensure that any sponsor will get acknowledgment and significant recognition both on the day of the classic and at other PPU events.
