CBC PPU Golf Classic 2021
Friday August 13th - Dun Laoghaire Golf Club
Congratulations to all who played in the PPU’s annual golf classic in beautiful conditions in Dun Laoghaire Golf Club on Friday the 13th of August. For a second year running Covid-19 restrictions prevented the usual socialising, dinner and prizegiving but nonetheless, given the good weather and the outdoor facilities, there were plenty of our members and guests enjoying their food and drink while looking out at the beautiful vista that the golf club offers.
There were lots of high scores this year with only two points separating 1st and 6th. Congratulations to winner Brian Lynch who came in with very strong score of 39 points only just pipping Ken Sullivan who also got 39 to earn second place on countback. Being on the same team it was not surprising that these PPU members were also the winners of the team event along with Ian Counihan and Aodh Burke. Full results below.
Hopefully the PPU will be able to stage a full dinner as well as the golf when the event comes around again next year.
The Results
Team
1st Aodh Burke, Ian Counihan, Brian Lynch, Ken Sullivan 93 Points
Individual
A very special note of thanks to Aodh Burke (’64) and his ASA Marketing Group and our own Executive Committee member Tim Kinsella of MKC Communications who, despite us NOT looking for sponsorship this year both generously donated to help us enhance the goodie bags and the prizes.
And, as always, thanks to Paul Wyse, for being our DLGC man – he makes it easy for us.
